Turbo 2.4L Nissan Recommendations?

Yeah I paid $54.xx including all taxes for 4x4L jugs. The oil should do at least 10,000 km intervals depending on the fuel dilution, but I'll be getting some used oil analysis after my auto-rx treatment to see exactly how long. I'll probably run it 5,000 kms and than get it tested after the arx cycle.

Nathan, sorry. Basic idea is to find engines with similair attributes and research what these owners used & results.

Or at VW's experience with small turbo engines. VW created their own tougher (than ACEA) spec's that I mentioned. I was just providing a starting point for consideration.

More oil capacity won't lower oil temps, it'll just take it longer to heat up.

Oh yes it will. This is based on experience. More oil capacity means more oil area for cooling. More surface area from larger sized sumps, or in the case I mention using a very large remote filter or two which increases the air cooling surface area on the filter(s).

Plus, BTUs are variable in an engine. Lower peak temperatures and lower average temperatures occur with larger sumps. So, how is taking longer to heat up not equal to lower average temps?

Get an accurate oil temp gauge and play with your oil levels in various load/no load situations with your engine.

Also, larger oil capacity increases dwell time of the oil outside the of the working engine. This is why the increase in oil capacity gives more time for the oil to dump heat.
