Trying to use Circle K gift card

I don't have any Circle K gas stations near me but I occasionally go past a Circle K convenience store with another brand of gas station.

I went into one the other day and the cashier couldn't get my Circle K gift card to authorize a gas purchase. I checked with customer service and the card has $100 on it and I was told I can use it to buy gas even if it is not the same brand.

Before I take a detour for a different location, has anyone done this before?

A purchase in New Jersey got me a Walmart card for $50. I went to use it in New York State and it wouldn't go.

A manager came over, typed in a buncha numbers and it went through perfectly.

I CANNOT remember if I told her it originated out of state or not.

Anyway, maybe that's what happened to you. The card may have been issued out of California.

Circle K, like a ranch? It's Circle KKK in the South?
