my package with usps, left Rockledge Fla to go to coastal south carolina, next stop was in bakersfield ca, then to clarita , ca, then back to columbia sc and on to its destination.
It was address typed clearly and zip was correct
Mine went through Bakersfield too. If your want your package on time USPS is the worst. I ordered valve cover gaskets from Texas. They were shipped first class on Wednesday with a delivery date the following Monday. They showed up 4 days late on Thursday for a total of 9 days between Texas and Idaho. First class all right.
I use USPS all the time with great results. I ship and track packages every week and have only had one delivery issue that I can remember. Customer gave wrong address.
Rockauto/ Fedex shipped slow to my work and got here a day early, was only about 3 business days.
It was all commodity stuff and could have waited until after xmas except for it was on clearance and may not have been around to buy. Felt slightly guilty about the poor staff not seeing their families.
I'm seeing 1'st class mail getting to the destinations far faster then Priority.
I sent out tons of Priority packages and they all are taking 5-10 days to get to the 48 states from here- MD.

Hah, I was thinking the same thing! USPS routinely marks my packages as delivered at 6AM, then actually delivers them around 5pm (If I'm lucky, and they don't push it to the next day)...
First class can be really good at times. Sent a processor first class to an island of Hawaii from NC on a Monday, and it was delivered Wednesday.
Lot of times USPS tracking shows half way across the country, and it was in my mailbox yesterday. I guess I will keep on using USPS though because they have always delivered even if it is late.
I've never had any luck with USPS tracking. I definitely wouldn't expect it to work now because of Christmas. I used to avoid USPS, but now it just boils down to cost for me. If I can save a few dollars and not need it right away, I might as well go USPS if it's cheaper.
I'm expecting some bushings that are being shipped via USPS and haven't once checked the tracking.
Sparkplugs.com refunded my shipping charges for a starter because UPS took four days for the three day delivery I paid extra for. First time I have experienced that but I will be doing business with them again when I need Denso parts.

UPS gives you a refund if they don't get it there on the day they say they will. That may only be next day air though.
Had trouble too....order medication for the wife on 12/6....no show as of 12/17. Get online and look at tracking....package made it to Illinois, but after that....buttkiss. Called my local USPS, they have the show the same thing, UPS didn't even put it into USPS tracking system. So, it 'vanishes'.....I called UPS....they don't know what happened either. Guess what? Two days later....it showed up.
I use USPS all the time and it is by far the best service. The flat rate boxes are a bargain, and I get coast to coast service in 2-3 days. I did have one small package in many years that went around in circles, but I got it, and they are much better not damaging packages than UPS. I can't praise the USPS enough and commend them for what seems to be an impossibly large job. Deliver to every address in the USA and territories six days a week. To me that's amazing.
