Replaced the fuel pump today and got it all buttoned up.. Filled it with gas from some cans (10 gals total) and the pump turns on and it tried to start at first.. But when it wouldn't, we popped the shcraeder valve on the fuel rail... Still no pressure. Is there a control or valve somewhere between the filter and the fuel rail that would prevent it from getting gas?

More: found what I believe is the fuel pressure regulator, it's a small roundish thing with cables and two gas/fuel lines. One comes from under the dash area the other goes towards the TB. It is mounted on the upper driver side of the firewall. Popped the schrader on that too, nothing.

Battery dead so gave up for tonight. Anyone have any idea what might be wrong with it? My mom is starting to get a little worried and annoyed.

You should put a fuel pressure gauge on it to check pressure. Also, did you change the fuel filter? Fuel pressure regulator should be on or near the fuel rail.

did you check the fuel pump fuse? Find the relay and swap it with another.
Is ignition switch giving power to the fuel pump?

Are you getting gas at the filter? One easy test is to put your hand on the case then prime the system, tank fuel is often cooler esp in the morning. You can do this with your other fuel lines as well.

Otherwise get dirty and crack a fitting.

I'm intrigued by the idea your pressure regulator might be faulty and bleeding everything down real quick. Chase the fuel down your return line.

Yeah my dad pulled the filter off and there was definitely gas coming out of the pump. Like I said the little thing has a gas/fuel line coming from down below, and another one going to the TB. There seems to be pressure in the incoming fuel line, but nothing is coming out of the bleed valve or the outlet.

Well found the problem. The rubber/plastic hose that goes from the fuel filter to the main metal fuel line got trapped between the bracked and fuel tank, and got crushed flat. So we need to replace it... Problem is, we have no idea what that particular part is called. It is a plastic/rubber hose (pre bent) about 2 1/2 feet long, with fittings on either end.

I would remove the hose and take it with you to the dealership parts counter.
