Trimmer Wont Start on Pure Gas

Maybe a coincidence but after putting in pure gas (no ethanol) in my trimmer...it won't start. My neighbor said the Stihl dealer told him not to use pure gas in his chainsaw........Anyone experience this.?

Fuel lines all intact? Any fuel leakage? I had a similar issue with my Husqvarna string trimmer this year. I had to replace the one piece fuel/primer hose/grommet assembly.

I suspect a bad primer bulb. When it worked fine and I primed it......extra fuel would spill out of the hose.....no fuel spilling now.

I suspected a bad line and replaced it .....didn't make a difference. I took the carb apart and cleaned it. Now it runs on half choke. I 'll have to rebuild the carb as soon as I can get a kit.

Duck bill on the gas cap letting in air? I've had them dry out and stick shut.

Throw the carb in the trash. A brand new one is likely less than $20. Replace your bulb at the same time.

Did it run fine last season? Is this a "new to you" unit that you're just trying to get going?
