Me either. I was never impressed with it, and wondered why it was praised by so many. Carry on.

Its amazing how something that's been around for so long still holds up against the much newer and more expensive products. If it was as bad as some like to believe it would not be any any ones shelf!

The first time I used NuFinish was on 1990 Mustang. It did a good job for its low cost and ease of use.

If you're referring to the pics of the red Mercedes provided by Stevie, then I must agree. As much as I'm not really a fan of the product, Stevie appears to have used it with phenomenal results. As I mentioned previously, the product does have its place, and with correct prep and application, can provide excellent results. I don't see it convincing me to go and try it again, especially since I already have so many other outstanding products in my stable, but for someone who is just starting out, and is willing to go through the right kind of effort, I can see it being worthwhile.

Lol I was thinking the same thing. This time next year if this post isn't locked it may be 24 pages long.

I first tried it last year and it works ok for me.

I tried the Nu Finish with my new palm polisher with a terry cloth bonnet : The shine was good - but the white dust and random white pin head - size dots let in the paint where a pain to remove . You could not buff these random , dried Nu Finish dots away - you actually had to use a wet microfiber cloth (one end dry the other end wet) to go at these white spots one by one (again , a real pain) ... I don't know if I went over areas too much which caused these numerous white dots ? I tried to not apply too much Nu Finish liquid or too much pressure - at any rate , in my limited experience Nu Finish was easier and results were better applied by hand ... Did I do anything wrong applying Nu Finish to get these random tough to remove white dots ? If I want to use my new palm polisher , I will probably have a better go of it using another , newer technology polymer sealant - one that also plays nicer with trim too !.

After reading your post I recall having the same issue. It was another turn off for me which ultimately stopped me from using the product.

How long does a bottle of nu finish liquid last you guys? I just did my 4runner and used about 1/4 of the bottle.

That must have been one heavy coat?

I didn't think so? Dried within a couple minutes and the haze was pretty light and it made me think I wasn't using enough

This guy doesn't mince words...and he's a long-time professional detailer who has actually used/researched various products.

NuFinish: The Car Polish that Isn't

Carry on.

So according to that web page. It's as good as anything else-but there is a downside, the most serious one is it doesn't come off black trim. Also-it's the least expensive of the bunch.

He says there are plenty of better alternatives at or near the same price...

Yes and no. It depends on how you count your "pennies". The next one is $2.00 more.

True. With an average of 10 full vehicle applications per bottle...that 20 cents per detail would be splurging for some.

Yeah...that part is funny indeed. Go spend tens of thousands on transportation..then maintain it one quarter at a time.

OP here : NuFinish experiment over - gave the balance of what I have to a neighbor kid with an older beater with no trim to stain . For a modern vehicle it was a pain to keep NuFinish off of trim and then there was the darn white dust to contend with ... I have since moved on to Meguiar's Ultimate Wax & Ultimate Polish as the best sealant which is easy to obtain (WM) , does not stain and is in line cost wise to similar on - line only polish and sealant choices .
