Anyone used this fluid in a Mitsubishi Jatco unit for J4 fluid? I'm far away from doing my drain and fill, but just curious. According to Amazon reviews, many have used it in problematic Nissans and had success.

There's probably nothing wrong with it, but it is red, which some people find off-putting.

Nothing wrong with using a different color, but some people still don't like to do so, or at least they want to be prepared for it.

The OE factory fluid is green. If you prefer the same color, get Cam2. Otherwise, Valvoline is amber, and so is Amalie (including the house brands they supple, Autozone/STP, AAP/Fram, etc)

Why are you choosing the Triax? Price?

I just put HPL CVT fluid in my wife's Outback. With the BITOG15 discount, I paid less than what Subaru OEM CVTF-II would have cost me, even with shipping.

We are all becoming very familiar with how HPL obsesses about using premium materials.

Amber colored.

Organic oil soluble dyes have no function whatsoever in terms of the performance of a fluid.
Indeed. The only reason I asked is because my car is still under powertrain warranty. If something happens unrelated to the non-OEM fluid, I don't want to give the goons at the dealership any excuse to deny warranty coverage based on fluid color. Even though the Magnuson-Moss act prohibits them from doing so, better to avoid conflict to begin with. According to my dipstick, OEM J4 is a light green color. Maybe I should just buy the CAM-2 fluid if that's the case

Dyes do fade.

How is the dealer going to know the dye hasn't faded?

Dealers aren't lubrication experts by any means.
