Transynd instead of mercon lv?

Good afternoon everyone. I have a 2011 Ford f250. I wanted to drain and flush my transmisson. My question is, could I use transynd instead of mercon lv? I have an abundance of transynd. I appreciate any info that anyone has for me.

Although spec'd by Allison, I believe TranSynd markets itself as a "universal" tranny fluid. As expensive as that stuff is, you could sell some of it and use the money to buy twice as much LV.

TES-295 should be a "lifetime" fill for pretty much any pickup truck.

You are asking on a forum for a definite answer to using something besides what is specified for your vehicle? I'd also stick with the LV. But that's is just me.

Well, Ford says very definitively to only use LV in the 6R140. You can buy Ford licensed Supertech LV for half the cost of Transynd, too.

That's because it's far easier for everyone, both the OEM and the aftermarket, to convince you to buy their product if they prevent you getting any useful data or information on the topic.

Mercon LV is at WM for $7.99. Good price and you know what you're getting.

I don't see why not, Transynd is designed for a transmission designed around Dexron VI which is basically Mercon LV...

Transynd came out before Dex VI.
And it was intended for extended usage intervals on commercial vehicles in severe duty cycles. Places like NYC Sanitation were one benchmark user.
That it's awesome in things like pickups is a bonus.

TranSynd is also a thicker fluid - which might not play nice with your 6R140. It’s based off the Dex 3 standard - it’s a high-viscosity ATF. At the least, you might have harder shifts and slow engagement when it’s cold, and at worse you’ll have shudder and slip.

It’s still good stuff, proven by many transit agencies in their bus fleets and garbage haulers. It’s not the right stuff for your truck.

Even though M1 LV HP is not spec'd for Ford trans, that's what I am using in my 2017 Ford Fusion and it performs very well.
