Transporting refrigerator laying down

If you MUST transport it that way , After you unload it , stand it up and do not plug it in for a day . The compressor oil needs to migrate back into the compressor .

Not letting the lubricating oil fall back will lead to early compressor failure. It's a PITA not to be able to plug your fridge in for a day but it beats buying a new one.

Not ideal to transport laying down, but if you must, the advice above is correct. DO NOT plug it in. Stand it up for at least 24 hours so the oils can move back to their correct positions before turning it on. After 24+ hours you can plug it in.
