Yes, Valvoline's Maxlife Dex/Merc is compatible with both Dexron III and the Toyota T-IV. User manual asks for Dexron III. And some Aisin transmissions ask for Toyota T-IV.
So im positive im using the correct fluid.
I mailed Lubegard and the representative told me that Aisin transmissions prefer the black bottle, so I think Ill buy it and try.

Echo the above statements on checking the solenoids, valves, etc. If you are using D/M fluid and the manual calls for Dex III, I would not change to a different D/M and hope the problem fixes itself.

I would also consider that it may be a "design feature". As mentioned above, new fluid may make an engine brake seem kind of dramatic if you are not expecting it. My Ford 6-speed DCT does something like this ALL the time in about the same conditions and it has <10k miles.

Just giving a heads up.
I added Lubegard Black as specified on bottle. (I could have used Platinum too, black was way cheaper and easier to get)
After using her for some time the shifts have become smoother and she now engages in a sexy manner, I have concluded you guys are right and "my concern" is an engine brake designed as a feature.
Sadly I didn't measure before the change so I can't say but I am getting a noticeable increase in MPG which is a plus.
So yes Lubegard + Valvoline's MaxLife Dex/Merc is a GO!
Thank you all for your time and answers!
