I'm doing 3 then ill do one a year approximately 10,000 mile intervals.

Thanks. Nice work. Handy to have. Serial dilutions can be daunting.

Remember the assumption made here is that perfect mixing occurs between each iteration. So be sure to run the trans through all its gears.

Imperfect mixing with leave a margin of error that will be magnified each time. My guess is that once you get to a theoretical 90-95%, that'll be about as good as it gets.

Good to have. I recently worked out the formula myself on a calculator, but I didn't write it down or put it into a spreadsheet. This saves me from having to do that

In any case, the greatest return on effort seems to be three D&F's for my vehicles. The margin rapidly diminishes thereafter. Since I've already done two D&F's on two of vehicles, I'll henceforth do a D&F annually. The fluid is already much cleaner than it had been, so the annual will be a little refresher for minimal effort.

If constantly renewed fluid were more desirable, the better solution would be one wholesale change of fluid, and then a D&F at some user-specified interval, such as each OCI or annually.

When I drained (AT drain plug) I removed ~ 50% of the fluid. The graph above only remove 2 quarts at a time which can be miss leading for a plug drain and refill. Ed

Probably because the graph makes an initial number figure which may not reflect your specific case. Amsoil's website says your transmission (assuming your CX-5) holds somewhere between 3.7 to 5.1qt (3.5 to 4.9L) with a total capacity of 8.2qt (7.7L). With that in mind, your spreadsheet data should look like this:

edit: I used Liters instead of Quarts by reason of international standard. Also direct link in case of "issues": i.imgur.com/nysK5A3.png
