Transmission and final drive oil for BMW R1100S

Manual calls for "Brand-name hypoid gear oil, SAE 90, API class GL 5" for both the gearbox and final drive.

Given these required specs, can someone recommend the best synthetic oil my bike? I only ride in temps between 50F and 90F but I do ride fairly aggresively. I'd rather use something I can pick up locally and not have to order online.

Amsoil 75W90 Severe Gear Lube and change it at double the BMW recommended interval. I used it this way for my 137,000 mile 2000 K1200LT. I sell it to many BMW shops and use it myself in my 2006 K1200LT.

That is the one for the trans and rear. Improved my shifting. Read up on the motorcycle engine oils at http://www.amsoil.com/lit/g2156.pdf . I change it with the Amsoil filter every 12,000 miles.

I use Redline 75-140 in both the transmission and rear differential on my R1150RT. No complaints and shifting was improved.

I use Redline "Shockproof Heavy" in my Moto Guzzi Tranny and final drive. So far so good. Worth considering in my opinion. Good luck.

"SEVERE GEAR Synthetic Extreme Pressure (EP) Lubricant 75W-90 (SVG)" in the rear and trans.
