I have 2004 Nissan maxima 5spd auto. Will most time my shift at going from 2nd to 3rd n Idk if is transmission mount cuz I never replace them n I'm at 100,000 miles.

I was thinking puting Lucas ATF consider or lubegraud so which should I pick n if we have better than those brand please let me know.

^^ not to bad like when I get to 2nd gear after that it take 3,000rpm to reach to 3rd gear changed.

First check that the transmission fluid is not low.

Put it in Park or Neutral on level ground with engine running, and parking brake on. Remove and wipe transmission dip-stick, reinstall for a few seconds (engine still running) and remove the dip-stick and read it. If the fluid level is low that could be your only problem. If so, add fluid, then either get under car and check that all bolts on transmission pan are tight, or have someone check the transmission-pan bolts when it is up on a rack.

If the rear and or front seal(s) are leaking fluid you will have to keep an eye on the transmission fluid level and add some to keep it full as required.

Well, if the symptoms are just starting, you might be able to save the transmission by dropping the pan, changing the screen/filter, IDK which it has, and replacing the ATF with known good ATF recomended here at BITOG for your particular transmission. Maybe even doing a complete ATF change(to replace as much ATF as possible) with instructions from someone here at BOB's

A mount would cause clunks and drivetrain movement. A drive train mount does NOT affect the shift point. It affects the feel when the powertrain shifts back and forth.

It could be a sensor. So, get the factory service manual and test them.

6years/100k is a young transmission. Was it maintained EVER? was it abused?

It could be ANYTHING. So, go do something.

I think you should go out and check the level. If its correct, drop the pan and get a new filter/fluid in there.

Could it be the mounts? Find out and get out there and check them. Dry-rot/tears you should be able to see. And, fluid mounts will look like they leaked.

Any CEL?

My wifes '00 maxima had a similar problem at about 120k. It turned out to be a 'revolution sensor' that took about an hour to replace.

I think she had a CEL or flashing D light or something though.

I think hers was a 4 speed, but it might be a similar sensor issue.

I have no cel light on n I have 5spd auto. There are alot of transmission issue with 2004-2006 maxima out there.

I was thinking puting lubegard platinum ATF plus mobil ATF .

My total drain n refill is 3.5 quarts of fuild so if I put lubegard in there then how many ATF I gotta put in there from 3.5? Idk how many ounce or quart does lubegard have?

Which Mobil ATF?

Typical starting dose for any Lubegard is 1 ounce for every quart added to the transmission, along with 1 ounce for each quart in the transmission already. Usually 1 bottle is what most need.

The only issues that I've seen with those Maximas is neglect and abuse, which is pretty common among the US consumer.

There are also shift kits for most Nissans to tighten up the slushbox characteristics.

Mobil ATF syctenic k-matic

Umm I know u gonna hate me but I'm gonna say it anyway. Before 100,00 mile I only done 3 drain/refill by now.

I called Nissan north america I tld them about my issue I'm having they said I need to take it to Nissan dealership to digonse the car. Then she gonna give it to case file n idk what happen after that.

How they going dignose my car if my cel is not on?

Try the easy things first. Have a transmission shop or the dealership check for a part that may be bad as CBR describes. If they say that only a complete transmission replacement will do the job, try something else first. It may be worth your money to clean the transmission with Auto-Rx, then to do a complete fluid flush...not just a drain and refill. Follow the Auto-Rx directions exactly. This will either fix your problem or extend the remaining life of a dying transmission.

doing flush on our transmission is bad that what I heard even dealerships don't do flush they just do drain/refill.

Correct me if I'm wrong or tell me how to do flush correct way?
