If the cable gets stuck, it will not change gears, had it happen.

Took it to a trans. shop, the guy knew what it was before even checking.

This was a 4xRE transmission? Sure, this trans will shift late & hard with max Line Pressure.....But it will shift. It will also slam into reverse & I can hear the pump getting maxed at idle.

Correct, it will be late/hard. Just like a 1966 Torqueflite with the throttle linkage all the way at the limit of travel or an old Ford C4 or GM TH400 with the vacuum line to the modulator disconnected.

I had the cable get stuck, it would not change gears no matter how fast you revved it. It went one speed and that was it and that wasn't very fast.

I was only stating that the cable getting stuck can keep it from shifting contrary to what you have stated, regardless of throttle position/speed. I am not sure what you are stating here, of course a cabled transmission will change gears at full throttle IF the cable is working as it is supposed to. If the cable is not working as needed, it cant shift as required if it even shifts at all, as is the case I am speaking of.

The transmission shop that I took it to has been in business for many years and knows what they are doing. The person told me what it was, got it working again and at no charge.

My neighbor just had this EXACT thing happen on his RAM. He is a moron and instead of trying sensors, which I suggested, he took it to an indy shop which automatically said it needs a rebuild. He of course believed them and is driving a loaner POS Grand Prix still today as it is being "fixed". Some people...

Put in a new output speed sensor from Napa at 26 bucks & some change. Cleared the code with my Super Chips programmer & lost about 1/3 to a half of quart of tranny fluid. Took a whole ten minutes & the truck is running like a champ. Wanna thank everyone for there feedback!!!!

Had a feeling!

You're welcome.
