Lots of folks have mixed ATF into diesel fuel for years; some insist that only Type F ATF is the one to use. I've never heard of anyone mixing ATF into gasoline 'til now.

Anyway, don't do it. ATF is not intended to be burned, and it won't burn as cleanly as you wish. For those who really can't stop themselves from adding an oil product to their fuel, use 2-cycle oil. It's made to burn cleanly.

A far, far better idea is to buy a diesel or gasoline fuel additive from Tim Mills. Neutra or Soy Ultra for gasoline, and Neutra, Diesel Treat 2000, or Soy Shield for diesel.

i have done all that stuff.(even adding diesel to gas)
but i dont have a catolitic converter so i dont need to worry about clogging it up.
with most cars today, mixing any oil, even 2stroke would not be a great idea because of the catcon.

Last night at the local raceway i overheard someguy say he mixes tranny fluid in his blazer to smooth it out. Is this something that would be safe to do or would it cause damage to newer vehicles...thanks alot

Marvel Mystry Oil!!!

My father has used it for years, 4 ounces Marvel Mystry to 10 gallons gas. If you read the bottle Marvel recommends the same thing. It is supose to be safe for catalytic converters, injectors and such. Guess it might be like giving a dead man an enema: "Might not help but it for dang sure ain't gonna hurt nobody"

I have tried it and I didn't notice a difference one way or the other. Also I have added 2cyl tcw-3 oil to gas at 1 ounce to the gallon just to get rid of some left over oil. Didn't notice a difference but the exhaust did smell like oil burning.

Over the years I have heard about adding Transmission fluid to fuel never tried it myself.

While ATF F might increase lubricity in diesel fuel, I would strongly recommend against its use in gasoline-fueled engines.

ATF's have many of the same additives found in engine oil which may cause deposit build-up on plugs, valves, and combustion chambers when these components are burned with the fuel.

So your saying, miz 2 cycle oil in with the gas you pump in your regular everyday vehicle and it's supposed to make it cleaner???? sorry I"m just trying to follow along here

No! I'd never do it myself. But if someone just has to "improve" their fuel with something, 2-cycle oil is probably least harmful...unless they expend the extra thought and effort to do it right and use Neutra, SoyUltra, or FuelControl.
