Traditional Clay vs. Surf City Clazilla ?

Is the Surf City Clazilla really an acceptable substitute for using tradional clay when "claying" your vehicle with detail spray ? While claying a car is not something that requires any strength - it does require stamina and takes quite a long time to complete ! I do however like the end results claying my vehicle gives me . If the Surf City Clayzilla would give me the same end result in half the time then I would definately be interested ! If not , then I already know the results I get with traditional clay ... Your thoughts ?

A Nanoskin already makes short work of the claying process.

They might be reinventing an old wheel here.

I'm not sure why you say claying takes an inordinate amount of time. Have you tried the Meguiar's kit sold at Walmart? I have used it for decades and think it is probably the best out there. Even when I have done the entire car, it only takes perhaps 30-45 minutes but maybe that's because I never let it go very long between jobs.

I have used the Clayzilla and it actually makes the work fast and easy plus the results I found to be excellent. The main thing is that you must spray on plenty of lubricant or it leaves a streak that is easily buffed out by hand.

What do we know about the abrasiveness of the Clayzilla? I know the Meguiars white clay is very safe. I looked at a youtube video and don't think it would work well over corners and the like.
