I think I'm a candidate for oil analyzers anonymous. Just can't help myself.
I've run virgin analysis on two
Universal Tractor Hydraulic/Transmission fluids ( THF). Here are the results.
The first entry is Schaeffer's product #115 and the second is John Deere Low Viscosity Hy-Trans fluid.
Lead = 0,1
Tin = 0,1
Iron = 1,1
Alum = 1,1
Silicon = 5,3
Moly = 2,1
Sodium = 2,1
Magnesium = 8,78
Zinc = 1010,1050
Phos. = 895,895
Cal = 2420,3020
Large Particle Count in microns:
Greater than 5 = 6752, 0
Greater than 10 = 1545, 0
Greater than 15 = 135, 0
Greater than 20 = 33, 0
Greater than 25 = 26, 0
Greater than 50 = 15, 0
Greater than 75 = 9, 0
Greater than 100 = 5, 0
IsoCode 20/14, not given on JD oil
All test are by Holt Cat in Dallas.
I can't tell if one is better than the other. However, I can see Schaeffer's needs to micron filter its oil at bottling.
