Traction Control 2010 Buick Lucerne

For a couple years now when i go to accelerate from a stop sign or light, the car acts and feels like it had a transmission slip and sometimes it will slam hard enough that i thought I was rear-ended. This only happens very sporadically.

Recently ive been drivimg with traction control off because i read that a bad sensor can mimic the sumptoms i described even on dry pavement so instarted doing it. So far its been running smooth. Only thing is it doesnt make sense how traction control would create a slip that bad. Is this even possible and has anyone heard of anything like thia?

Sounds like the transmission isn't shifting down to 1st when you come to a stop. We had the same issue with my mom's '07 Impala and lived with it for over 150k miles.

If thats the case, how does driving around with traction control turned off stop it from doing what i described?

Forward Clutch apply piston wear, Bring up the RPM & it'll slam into gear. Common 4T65E problem.

Those sound like very possible issues. But i guess what im asking is how and why would turning off traction control permit the car to run perfectly fine.?

I had that in my 2007 impala. I put some at205 in it and it went away.

Ok...im sorry about not clarifying. But by driving with traction control off. It is NOT doing this slipping thing i described. Has anyone ever experience anything similar with a traction control issue like this,

Maybe a bad wheel speed or and sensor or one going bad

You said yourself is sporadic.....Which the forward clutch piston thing can be.

The TC can cut throttle & retard timing.....Even force a 2nd gear start on some models, But not a slipping clutch.
