Toyotas on the interstate

Hood up on two the rest with rags on the mirror or door handle.
It is against the law i believe to park on I95..

Fair enough. I know from my consumer car repair days that lots of people bought Toyota's because of the reliability reputation, and then NEVER did any maintenance. No oil changes. Nothing.

From my friends and former colleagues still in the business this is a bit less frequent today. As Toyota's come with 2 year, 25K free maintenance. Of course the people still have to actually take the vehicle in, to get the oil changes, which doesn't always happen.

Some people probably interpret reliability as "can't" or "won't" break no matter what and continue driving even when something isn't right. I saw a 4Runner with a complete ball joint failure last weekend. They were having a hard time just getting it on the tow truck without doing more damage. I suppose it could have just happened out of the blue, but I bet that it was making all kinds of bad popping or creaking noises for a while before that happened.

I seen the same thing on Hyundai's
Pure abuse.
Most buyers really couldn't afford the car in the first place.

We had that here many times.
My Toyota seems to fix itself....
Really.

There is definitely that. Absolutely true. But some issues they have are mind boggling considering they are sticking purposely with outdated technology to satisfy certain customers.

You get it too😂

Now in complete fairness in 1800 total miles I did not see a VW on the side of the road.

I had a Corolla once as a rental car.... Never before have I attracted so much attention from the octogenarian ladies!

One lady rolled down her window at a stoplight and told me I looked just like her grandson.

I was thinking based on the title you are talking about Toyota’s doing 20mph below speed limit in the left lane. They have some serious competition from Subaru in this discipline. I actually think Subaru is overtaking (I am not sure overtaking fits same sentence with Toyota and Subaru).
I actually find it the opposite. I always have 4Runners and Tacomas riding my a** even if I am doing 5 mph over. I was towing my travel trailer back from Glacier national park last weekend and was doing 70 mph in a 70 mph zone on a 2 lane road and got passed my multiple taco/4R’s who continued on doing probably 80 mph. Again, on a 2 lane road 😂

In Kentucky all the drivers that fly by are in Nissans and Hyundai cars. I still drive my VW beetle and my old VW Wesfalia camper. Not fast but I am in it for the journey.

Yeah, but problem with 4Runner and Tacoma drivers is that they think they have power under the hood, when in reality i run faster.
And when they want to “race” you up the I70 West of Denver on 9% grade and 8,000ft altitude, it becomes comical.

My nephew test drove a V6 Tacoma when he was buying a truck and when he got back to the dealership he opened the hood thinking it was a 4 cylinder instead.

Nope a V6. He said it was gutless and passed on it.

Dont you drive a tiguan with like 180bhp or something?

I am not a fan of any non hybrid Toyota except the Tundra and 4 Runner, and those, just because they WORK

200 which is going to obliterate either one of those.

Like how? Off road? Yes. I would get 4Runner over JEEP or whatever. Other than that, no point.
Like, they retain stoopid value and all my friends with them got over 400k miles without any real repairs. Its a Toyota. They last. My grandparents have 370k on their Avalon, for example. No issues.

Yeah, they are slow for V6, but they will pass you in the junk yard by 300k miles running like a top.

5.6L Tundra is decent though. And lasts.

Rav4 Prime is downright speedy I'm discovering, lol
