I thought Hybrid cars all took 5W20 or 0W20 oil?!? I was surprised to find the 5W30 lable on my Prius oil fill cap and in the manual.

I think I am going to use Motorcraft 5W20. Just getting ready for my first oil change at 1k miles.

I noticed that on mine also. I will be running the Platinum 5W30 in mine. If Toyota starts to recommend 5w20 on these and retro's back to mine, then I might switch to 5W20. There must be a reason for the 5W30 but I do not know why.

probably 5w30 due to fuel dilution issues with the engine not burning off fuel/condensation since the electric engine is on half of the time

currently using PENNZOIL 5w-30 Yellow Bottle that was buy 1 get 1 free at PEPBOYS . That was the 1st oil change , the next most likely to be 5w-30 CASTROL Synblend ( trying to convince her to use the PENNZOIL : SUV , Mini-Van , and Truck : Syn-Blend ( for cars as well ) . That too was (is) buy 1 get 1 free at PEPBOYS , will use the 'ZOIL blend for the '00 PRIZM (Corolla) . You'd think the Syn-Blend be a good in between , seeing good U.O.A.s of both PENNZOIL conventional and PLATINUM ) . The '07 PRIUS is the ol' ladies , so no full synthetic until further notification
