I wouldn't have to prove that using a high efficiency filter could make an engine last to 1M miles since they can do it under the right circumstances using lower efficiency filters. Simply just "making it" doesn't really give any real measure of how much difference in wear would have resulted - but hey, it "made it". There are plenty of engines that are pretty worn out way before 1M miles, due to all kinds of multiple factors, but keeping the oil cleaner than not is also one of those factors. Now prove that cleaner oil doesn't actually reduce engine wear. I'm still waiting for that official study to materialize.
Like I've always said in these discussions, the use conditions have a bearing on how the oil filter efficiency can impact wear over the long run. And if people don't care about oil filter efficiency, then go for it ... it's not my machine.
Has anyone bought a Super Tech cannister filter for their Toyota in the last few weeks?
Was concerned that the Champion Labs made Super Tech filters' quality may have gone down lately
as morale and job losses may have lessened quality assurance and overall quality.
