Any ideas?

I hate RTV.

For a 96 Land Cruiser that uses red FIPG for the AT pan.

I usually write/note the date that I open sealant tubes (Sharpie scribble on the squeeze key). If it's more than a year old, I proceed with caution. Usually, I remove the cured plug in the tube opening and assess what's underneath. Squeeze out a portion on a card and see if it behaves as expected (skins over, cures, etc.).

9/10 of the time the product is still good.

We’re going to toss it. There should be no reason to use Toyota red Fipg for years. Not taking the chance at that point.

Primary concern was that we were doing the job and though the part came from the dealer we didn’t know how old it was or what issues we would face.

I did squeeze some out before starting to apply.

Let the pan cure about two hours, then refilled with 6.3qts of ATF and the truck was driven home. So far, so good.

I got that number by interchanging Mahle part # they list the OE number. They have about 4 different gaskets, it would take a trip to the dealer with your pan. If its holding then you are good to go.
Interesting. Maybe even Toyota changed to a gasket for the same AT at some point. The old red FIPG looked good. Not sure if it was ever exchanged TBH.

If it holds, great. If not we will explore this option. Thanks!
