Mostly highway trips including a very cold one to Minneapolis last winter. 9,400 miles on the oil and car in 10 months.

Welcome to BITOG Jim! Hard to tell with factory fills how the engine will wear because there is much more "break-in" material in the oil and high silicon due to sealers from the assembly process. Check it out again after a few oil changes. What oil did you use for this fill up?

Wear in metals are fairly low. I've seen M1 uoa with that much and more on a 10000 mile run in engines that were already well broken in.
Should lead to a long, reliable life.
Thanks or posting.

At 9,674 miles the dealer performed the first of two "Toyota Care" complimentary oil changes. The ticket listed 4.5 quarts of 00279-OWQFT 0W-20 oil and a 04152-Y22A1 filter.

This is the first time in my life I intentionally went past 5000 miles on oil. I had to grit my teeth. The Blackstone Labs report helped. Also, I felt the engine was not providing power about 25% of the time due to motor inputs. Therefore, 10,000 miles on the car was not 10,000 miles on the engine.

I agree that the high Si is most likely due to sealers and gasket material from engine assembly. To be on the safe side, check the air filter, the filter housing and the connections to the intake for leaks. Re sample and you should see the Si values dropping. Very impressive Fe numbers for a brand new engine

Roger that. I plan another UOA after 10,000 miles on this oil and filter.
