Toyota "all in" on EVs?

Just my opinion, but I think EV sales would be far stronger, especially for entry level models, if people better understood the benefits (and realities) of ownership. The Bolt is flat-out loved around here; you should see my street. Of course Teslas are everywhere. There is this general anti-EV sentiment that dominates so much of America (and much of BITOG). California is the biggest car market in the US and we love our EVs. There's a reason for it.
People in the cities and suburbs in Texas love their EVs also, I see Teslas everywhere. There's a dozen Lightnings and Silverado EVs in my section of the neighborhood now also. Electricity is a quarter of the cost here as in CA, so it makes a lot of sense.

That said the human logic still needs an upgrade. One of my neighbors told me that he was going to make it to New Orleans on one stop in his Lightning based on the EPA rating. I told him there wasn't a chance of that unless he drove 60 all the way there and to download ABRP post haste before his trip. He's glad that he did.

This was the easiest way to get AWD, IMO, as opposed to integrating a mechanical drivetrain for the front wheels. It's too heavy with the battery for what it's supposed to be, IMO. We need to stop normalizing 4200 pound sports cars.

The new base 6.7 gas motor will have 530HP and probably do 0-60 in 2.5 or somesuch with the 8 speed dual clutch. And it's cheaper than the hybrid models. For most people I would think that's enough. I'm an EV enthusiast but for a Corvette that's the way I'd go in 2027 for a nice driver. Base with maybe some creature comfort upgrades. If you like to do track days then get the Z51 suspension or whatever it is.
I think as far as a concept goes the Corvette is brilliant. Just look at the numbers the ZR1X is capable of. It can embarass some of the most insane EVs and it still has that amazing flat plane crank V8 for entertainment. It may just be the perfect actually useable supercar.
