So, the gist of that TSB is that an ecore doesn't flow well enough.

I see the gist of the TSB is maybe the engine bearing clearances are too wide and they need to use a racing filter to make up for the pressure drop? The UPF looks like a nice filter. When I had a GM 1971 350 with 4 barrel, I think I used an orange can and never paid any attention to it.

I wouldn't change anything.
