I agree… the antique toy and real tractor markets have declined. On BaT, I saw a restored John Deere model R industrial go for only about 5 grand (no reserve). At that price, it would make sense for a farmer to buy it and just use it like any piece of machinery. I inherited 1/2 of my dad’s 1/16 Ertl two-cylinder JD collection… mostly 1990’s production, as well as the Expo flavor of the year. I’ll probably just hang onto it and pass it to my son. In my mom’s garage, there’s a restored 1938 John Deere B “unstyled” that none of us are sure what to do with. It probably needs a carb kit and it was a bear to start (hand start with no compression release valves). My brother lives about 90 miles from mom, in an apartment, and is in grad school. I have a house and 1+ acre, but I’m 1,200 or so miles from there… and would probably be better off buying an early electric start JD two-cylinder locally if I just had to have one.
