Cool containers
I couldn't get closer to see the back labels because they aren't sold on the floor, but on the shelf behind the registers.

so would you use it at nearly double the price of M1 or PP?
He may be responding to the part where you called it a "novelty". In the US market, yeah, it pretty much is a novelty but in Europe, I think it's as common as Valvoline, Castrol, QS, etc. It's simply not common here though.... and the price (and lack of market share/sales) reflects that.

For the few years past and perhaps this year too Total had an outfield sign in the Phillies ballpark.

Whenever I see advertising like that I wonder if it's for product or just to get the name into other people's (investors'?) heads.

I always thought the Total "swirl" (to the left of the Total name) would make a cool tee shirt design.

I've bought Total products on sale at AutohausAZ online.

I'll take a swing too. I can get it @ Ocean State Oil in RI; Not important that it cannot be had in WI (at least to me) j/k.
There are "distributors" for it around me but I suspect if I called to get some, they'd have to order it. Does "Ocean State Oil" actually have it in stock ?

Total oil is a very large company and is the oil heavily promoted for Peugeot and Citroen cars.

In Australia it can generally only be purchased from Peugeot/ Citroen dealers that are few and far between and at a very high price.

I use Mobil 1 ESP formula 5w30, this oil has the approvals for Peugeot/Citroen, BMW, Porsche, MB, VW and Chrysler. Mobil is much cheaper and is very easy to obtain.

Having used Total I have no doubt that it is a very good oil, but is grossly overpriced and lacks local support in terms of point of sale outlets.

Total is common as muck all over Europe, their oils are nothing special overall but not bad either, just fairly run of the mill Group III stuff, Total has been partners with the PSA group for decades now, Elf too, although Elf's oils are all pretty much rebottled Total by now.
I guess it's kind of a novelty for the US, but it's as common as Pennzoil or Quaker State is in the US.

Don't some Hyundai's have the Quartz sticker in the engine bay? I saw someone post that at one time. My Tucson has a Quaker State sticker.

Legend has it, that if you use any other oil, your engine will blow prematurely. Don't tempt fate! Grab all the Quartz you can!

Surprised it's 5qt and not 5L.
Same bottle, just a different label, and filled slightly different. Every 5-quart bottle I've bought for years has dual markings on the side. I am curious where it's produced/bottled. I'd be somewhat surprised if they're shipping this from overseas vs just using a NA blender.

Yes, QS is Hyundai’s recommended oil. Total is Kia’s and some cars have a total sticker under the hood. I find that interesting because Total isn’t as available in the US, and I’m not paying $45 for it. I can buy 2 jugs of QSFS for less than that at W*M.

Weird decision for sure by Hyundai. Who knows.

I bet all those Theta II engines would have ran perfectly with Quartz/Total.

:)
