Toro 221QE won't throw snow, even with new parts

So I was using my Toro 221QE about a week ago and it was working, but then it started to make an intermittent squealing sound whenever it had to do any work at all like move only a few inches. So I figured the standard maintenance kit must've been in order to address this. I bought the machine back in 2010 so it's had 4+ years of use. I just got done replacing the paddles which were worn to be sure, but actually still had some useable life left in them. I also replaced the belt and the scraper bar. Everything was reinstalled correctly.

Despite all that, the problem was not fixed whatsoever. It's like there is almost no power/torque being transferred to the paddles, it cannot even slightly propel itself like it used to, it's being "bound up" somehow and squealing (almost sounds like the paddles are squealing themselves, but not sure. It did this before I replaced them, and the ones I replaced were the factory installed ones and I had never messed with any of this before) and it barely throws snow. It's like 99% of it's torque is just not even there. The paddles spin when you pull the lever down, but when I first pulled the lever it took a second or 2 for the paddles to start spinning, like there was some kind of resistance inhibiting their ability to spin as freely as they're supposed to.

Thanks for any help.

P.S. before I even started the machine after I replaced the aforementioned parts, I sprayed the business end of the machine down with fluid film, which makes this problem make even less sense, because such lubrication would only help the machine move snow and not have ice build up and get stuck to the moving parts.

Belt needs tightened and/ or replaced. Make sure paddle is not seized up from rust or something stuck in it causing excess torque on belt.

This is a single-stage machine.

Like said above, either the belt you installed is too big/loose, or the tensioner cable needs tightening.

belt or tensioner.. make sure the paddles can spin freely with it not running. Maybe they are rusted up there is some kind of bearing that allows them to spin of course.

I absolutely love my 15 year old toro CCR 2450.

I bought a 1.5 year old ccr 3600 with all the gadgets like chute control etc.. sold it and kept my old ccr-2450 it was better in every way.

The fact that I had just put a 90$ all metal replacement carb on it might have influenced me

he has replaced all of the parts being mentioned
I say it is the cable which you pull to engage the auger---it is not moving far enough to push the idler pulley, which tightens the belt and spins the auger
Check for loose cable mountings, bent cable, or broken cable. You can verify the idler pulley is functioning correctly if you have the side cover off and watch how it works when you pull the engagement handle

there is actually a plate with a bunch of holes in it.. that the cable just hangs from you can move it to a different hole to take up slack.. kind of odd a new belt would need this adjusted though.. usually it would be tighter than an old belt.

Its usually hidden behind a round plastic sleeve at the top(by the handle)

some people put them on backwards at the bottom and have issues as well.

Take it to a professional to replace the belt. I think you are in over your ability. None of the items you changed would cause your symptoms.
