So I was using my Toro 221QE about a week ago and it was working, but then it started to make an intermittent squealing sound whenever it had to do any work at all like move only a few inches. So I figured the standard maintenance kit must've been in order to address this. I bought the machine back in 2010 so it's had 4+ years of use. I just got done replacing the paddles which were worn to be sure, but actually still had some useable life left in them. I also replaced the belt and the scraper bar. Everything was reinstalled correctly.
Despite all that, the problem was not fixed whatsoever. It's like there is almost no power/torque being transferred to the paddles, it cannot even slightly propel itself like it used to, it's being "bound up" somehow and squealing (almost sounds like the paddles are squealing themselves, but not sure. It did this before I replaced them, and the ones I replaced were the factory installed ones and I had never messed with any of this before) and it barely throws snow. It's like 99% of it's torque is just not even there. The paddles spin when you pull the lever down, but when I first pulled the lever it took a second or 2 for the paddles to start spinning, like there was some kind of resistance inhibiting their ability to spin as freely as they're supposed to.
Thanks for any help.
P.S. before I even started the machine after I replaced the aforementioned parts, I sprayed the business end of the machine down with fluid film, which makes this problem make even less sense, because such lubrication would only help the machine move snow and not have ice build up and get stuck to the moving parts.
