Andres Segovia was absolutely one of the great guitarists, and John Williams is great too, but not many people here probably enjoy classical music.

I was one of Mahogany Rush's biggest fans.
It was rumored years ago that Frank's career was ended when the engine from the funny car that he and his pals had, fell over in the shop and crushed his hand.
This was supposed to have ended his brilliant career.
But others state that he was simply still stung out on drugs and that was their best excuse to slide away with honor. (shrug)
All I know is the guy could really grind an axe.

If anyone has seen ZZ Top live, they will have to agree that 'the Reverend" Billy F. Gibbons is amazing.
And his coffee table book, Rock & Roll Gear Head, is an excellent collection of cars and guitars. I saw it a Virgin in San Francisco a few months ago... should have bought it.

Agreed. The guitar solo on Comfortably Numb is one of my all-time favorites.
Vince Gill always seems to surprise me with his talent.He is country but can have blusey and rock and rolley overtones or playing styles is some of his music .
I heard an interview with Billy G. on the Art Bell radio program ,Billy is incredable.
We can get you a Strat real easy .
I agree on David Gilmour...that man can play the guitar in such a mellow yet skull crushing way, it's amazing.
Personally I prefer Michael Schenker over Malmsteen and a lot of other flashy guitarists.
Gary Moore is another really good blues rock guitarist that regularly gets overlooked.
