Toilet suggestions...

Define "best" in your scenario? What's you're budget?

I have a Toto Drake II and a Mansfield Cascade in my house. Mansfield and Toto are the only companies that make significant numbers of toilets in the U.S.

My Toto was made in the USA.

My Mansfield was made in Colombia. Mansfield makes many, many toilets in the US, but they're owned by a Colombian company, so some models are made in Colombia. That's fine with me.

You'll read a lot of complaints about Mansfield, but the complaints are almost exclusively based on the Alto toilets. Those are super cheap toilets that builders install in new homes to cut costs. Mansfield has some good toilets, like the Summit series and the Cascade.

If you want something you can get locally that's relatively affordable, the Mansfield Summit is made in the USA and can be bought at Menards.

I bought my Mansfield Cascade from a local plumbing supplier. Now they also can be ordered at Menards.

I bought my Toto Drake II from a website called National Builder Supply. They have a specialized process for packing toilets and mine arrived in perfect shape.

The Toto is a better toilet than the Mansfield, but the Mansfield is a good toilet and cost 1/3rd as much as the Toto.

I always recommend Kohler Class 5 Wellworth model, if asked.

Affordable, great flush, decent looking, easy to work on.

So we bought two different american standards from Lowes last year.

Both are low water flow.

First is the American Standard Champion 4 max.

Best toilet I have ever used, we bought the tall height one it is perfect.

For the other bathroom my wife requested a round bowl, and we bought the American Standard Cadet 3. It has not been as good and clogs once in a while.

Get the champion.

x2 for Toto Drake.

Try to find local supplier and call them to see their pricing.
When I was looking, the price varies by up to $200.
It depends on how much discount they can give.
IIRC, the cheapest was under $300 out the door with everything.

When we built our home we had American Standard toilets installed in all 4 bathrooms. I don't remember the model, but it was the one that they flushed all the golf balls down in the advertisements.

We've never had a single issue with any of them.

I bought a couple Water Ridge dual flush toilets at Costco a few months ago. They seem to be doing the job just fine!

Only women would ever request a round bowl.

I'll go further - only women who don't care about or understand male anatomy.

I won that arguement long ago. One of her frends lived with us for a spell, and had the room across from the bathroom. One drunken night he sat down, it apperently flopped out and he [censored] all over the bathroom. When she went in in the morning, bleary eyed , she snapped to in a rather large puddle and flipped. It happened a second time before she got fed up and we got a new toilet. At least he cleaned it and paid for the toilet...

She would not let me get the unisex industrial wall mount however...

Even this thread turns into a contest.
