Toilet Paper Shortage of 2021

I despise the fools that were hoarding things then taking advantage of others by selling it @4x the price.

We ran out of paper products. I had to go to dollar stores and Home depo to get stuff.

We always buy certain things in bulk. Honestly-- primarily for our dogs' meals as we feed a natural diet.

Somebody tried to shame my wife in WM checkout for buying ~8 jars of applesauce, but that's EXACTLY how we shopped before and after the irrational global panic.

Point being it's annoying when normal behavior is judged as hoarding. If a shop buys a case of oil filters, are they hoarding??

Worse was people who bought gennies for Y2K then wanted to return in the first few days of January

Down here people were buying generators during hurricane season and then returning them after it passed . The big box stores had to change their return policy because of these jackasses .

Got a bidet toilet attachment. No real need for toilet paper any more. Life changing.

During the pandemic, I went to the local general store in my town. They were selling 1 roll of Scott 1,000 sheet toilet paper for $5 each.
They had a limit of 1 per person. They were acting like they are doing the town a service by making sure each person could have "some toilet paper" to prevent hoarding. The only hoarding going on there was that general store hoarding all our money.

Agree. Charging $5 is the definition of hoarding. I would not ever shop there again if it was me.....

There was a guy at work who was a big C19 denier, didn't watch any mass media and only believed what he read on a certain person's twitter. He came in one day and said what's up with toilet paper, he went to 3 stores and there was none. Had no idea. Ranted how stupid people were. I laughed at him. We had been buying paper products bulk from Sam's anyway and never had a problem.

I hoarded .22LR long before shortages. Just bought it when the price was right, and I shot a lot back then.
I did not take advantage of the shortage.

Probably gave more than 5000 rounds, to friends with kids, that had none to shoot. That was reward enough.
