Sell Walmart - Buy Amazon

Allow me to explain. Ten days ago I placed an order on Walmart dot com, two items, cycling shorts and allergy meds.
Yesterday evening an envelope showed up. Picking it up, ahh, this does not feel like a pill bottle. Instead of the Loratadine I ordered, instead I received Dog Treats.

I found the We Screwed Up button on Walmart dot com, the bot was very efficient, quickly issuing a refund and told me to return it to my local store.
All going smooth so far. But wait, I still need to drive to the store for the return. Preview. Clerk > Supervisor > Manager

I waited in line starting at 2:30 PM, one clerk on duty. My turn, I explain, and Clerk starts scanning bar codes and shaking her head. Clerk heads off to get Supervisor. Supervisor arrives, does not move the ball down the field at all. Call for the Manager, and wait, then wait some more. Manager knew her stuff. Explaining the mess for the third time, we are almost there. End in sight, but, in order to get the system to not choke on the return transaction, Manager must issue me a refund. If you are keeping score I already have one refund headed my way. I nod my head to agree to the refund. Done.

The gift card return along with the receipt are taped to my fridge,

As I am walking out of Customer Service(?), past the long line of customers that have been staring daggers at me for the last 30 minutes. They all hear me. ¨We are doomed¨ then ¨Never again¨

Contrast that with Amazon...
If I need to make a return to Amazon I head to my local Whole Foods where CS has me on my way, slick as you please with a Thank You Sir.

Yes Walmart is a nightmare in customer service........ I won't go into when tried to get my tires put on that I brought back for installation. The guy on the phone said bring them by now, not a problem.
I get there and see shop idle....... I don't even think there were any cars in the bays..... IIRC. When I got to the cashier I said I would like the tires put on.

She said NOOOOO you need an appt......... I said so and so told me on the phone I can just come on down. She checked with him and finally gave in. Then the transaction needed the same guy (manager?) to get the transaction completed. Probably 10-12 minutes.

Lord save me.......... 😒

That is hardly a reason to believe someone's opinion on a stock tip. Useless information.

Yours is probably an isolated situation with the store. I haven't had any issues with recent online orders or with customer service at my local Walmart. Think about it , if you didn't make the mistake in the first place , none of that would have happened.

Perhaps you failed to notice (tongue in cheek) in the Title?

¨Think about it , if you didn't make the mistake in the first place, none of that would have happened.¨

Kindly point out My Mistake.

The OP ordered biking shorts and meds, and got dog treats instead - that’s not his mistake. That belongs to Walmart.

The title was tongue in cheek.

I get it, I really do. In fact, I got banned from one Walmart location because I had to return an online item, but nobody was in the customer service area.
The line started forming I was first in line, must’ve been five or 10 minutes gone by still no one in customer service even other employees went to get somebody. So what did I do?
I sat on the counter and waited because my legs were killing me.

Finally, a nasty customer service lady walks into the service center and says you can’t be up there!
I said you’re lucky I’m not laying down. It took so long.
She said you’re nasty. I’m not helping you. Leave the store or I’m calling Security.
Holy smokes bottom line is I wouldn’t leave the store. She called Security. Security told me if you don’t leave. We have to call the cops so I let them call the cops and then nicely. I walked out the front door and I can’t go back in the store.

Walmart is the dredge of society. By the way, I’m still kind of pursuing what took place.

However, with that said, I am a Walmart stockholder and a Walmart plus customer.
I have another Walmart store I can go to, but sometimes just for fun. I I have them deliver a few items I may need.

As far as investment, Walmart has been very good to me and Amazon, not as good. This is just the last five years though in the chart.

I’m only posting this because some people may be shocked how much more money you would’ve made in the stock market with Walmart. Plus I have 300% more shares because of a one for three stock split not too long ago.

Walmart is good at making money, Amazon just so so a lot of their profit comes from their cloud services

I agree walmart.com is light years behind amazon.

Huge tip - if you ordered online - DO NOT agree to return to a store. Say ship return, in which case you will likely still need to drop it at a Walgreens or other place that takes fedex. Still better than the store. If its a small item they will often just tell you to keep it.

Buy Citigroup, 6 days ago, like I did.

I love Walmart, but not the online app. I’m still a store guy. They have someone who works in the stock room go out on the floor and pick it and drive it to my house (I realized after my first order).

The order was a 5qt jug, a 1qt bottle, and a Toyota filter. I got the bottle and the filter. No jug. Next day I had to spend 15m on the phone explaining why, when they had the picture from the driver, and then they sent another driver out the next day with the jug and a bottle (I only requested the jug they forgot). That was my one time only on the Walmart .com

Walmart and Amazon Prime are completely different in their target customer base. I would think both will do well in their retail sector of their businesses.

Amazon is mostly AWS + a not that profitable retail business attached to it. If you are buying Amazon shares remember that. Same as Tesla being mostly a tech company that happens to sell car on the side.

Noted, Thanks!
