Tire Selection Process

I just picked out tires for the Santa Fe, getting them installed Saturday.

Wanted an all season with good winter performance.

Looked at Discount Tire, Tire Rack, Les Schwab[way overpriced], and looked for tests and reviews on youtube.

Ended up picking the Continental TrueContact Tour for its ratings/reviews and price. The GY WeatherReady was my first choice, but they were another $50/tire.

Life is a compromise.

Had my Cooper Evolution Tour installed this morning on my Equinox. So far so good. Very smooth and quiet on the one hour drive home. The real test will be cold weather and rainy/snowy weather performance over the next few months.

Of those 3 tire summaries at the top of the article, I'd pick the TrueContact Tour every time.

I'm still rocking my 60K mile Continental PureContacts (with EcoPlus!!!) on the Corolla, though I'll swap to Winter tires soon I'm very impressed with these tires, especially in the rain. One of the few times I can just say I could just buy the same thing again when it comes time to replace them. They can't last forever, I'll do a little research before replacing them, probably Spring/Summer next year, but I can heartily recommend them. Hmm... there's a new PureContact LS. Interesting...
