Tire kingdom had a realy good deal on an oil change using pennzoil and a four tire rotation for 19.99 and since its been getting colder i went ahead and did the durangos service there.
Well my question is does anyone knows what kind of oil filter they use? On the paper it says that its a pennzoil filter ?
Is it a good filter? I see where they make money by pushing you to buy other things that you dont want. They tried to sell me an air filter for like 22.00 dollars! I told them that i already had one at home, so after that i went to autozone and got one for $11.00
and put it in my self .
Not a bad deal oil change tire rotation and air filter all for $35.00 tax included. 

Pennzoil oil filter = Purolator

Every time I take our cars to Tire Kingdom to have tires I bought online mounted..... they try and up sell: an alignment, fuel injector service, wiper blades....etc, etc.

I just simply tell them I am getting rid of the car next year and could care less my car needs _____, ______, and _____. At that moment all their sales pitch stop.

I'm not trying to be an apologist for the quick-lube industry, but their margin on oil changes is razor-thin. Employees are instructed to "up-sell" as much as possible the higher-profit services to pad the bottom line. If all they did were basic oil changes they'd be out of business tomorrow.

I agree with Maximus' statement to "just say No Thanks"...like with telemarketers, there's no need to be devious or rude, just hang up. They don't care because there's another sucker right behind you...
