You've gotta post that interior pic you've posted before, now that was impressive!

Thanks Nick!

Relative to the tread distortion:

In spite of the fact that you think you may not have hit anything, it is possible to run over an object and damage the tire, but not know that happened - and based on your description, that is what happened. This can happen to any tire regardless of brand.

I had a friend who rolled over an 8" long wrench that penetrated the tire - and stuck in. The only way he noticed it was by the feel of the car and when he stopped to investigate, he heard the hissing. You would think that something that big would have been seen laying on the road - and you would think that something that big puncturing the tire would be noticeable when it happened - but that is not what occurred.

That's what I'm leaning towards so far,the Yokohamas. How would Yokohama compare to Michelin?

How are these tires? $100 a piece.

BFGOODRICH
G-FORCE SPORT COMP 2

These are a little more expensive,$125.

YOKOHAMA
YK740 GTX

Those two they'd have to order for me. Then they have these cheap off brand ones in stock:

SENTURY
UHP $62

OHTSU TIRE
FP0612 A/ $71

I'm thinking of going with the BF Goodrich, which after reading the reviews seem to be the best bang for the buck.

Your best choice out of those four is indeed the Comp-2

Sentury and Ohtsu? Never heard of them. Sounds like some cheap Chinese [censored]. BFGoodrich are good tires. Although I think Yokohama's are better. I think either would be a good choice over the straight outta china tires.

DT has a "price match guarantee" on their website. Tire Rack has the BFG's for $10 cheaper per tire,so I submitted the link to DT. Will DT match Tire Rack's price?

Yes, but they will factor in the shipping fee that Tire Rack charges. Which could very well be around $40 or so.

Had a set of Yokohama Avid Touring on the Jetta. Excellent wet and snow traction (went up and down the mountain in a snow/ice storm I seen 4x4's getting stuck in) and they rode well. After 15K miles they got really noisy even with rotations. I did have a wheel balance issue so that could be part the problem. They looked like they were wearing well when I traded the car in. Most likely going to throw a set of the same tires on the Camry here soon.
