If you suffer with tinnitus and its not from noise exposure, do yourself a favor and see a specialist, there may be something they can do. Im 33,and in August of ‘23 I woke up to ringing in my left ear, and thought it would go away. Well, a year later, it hadnt. I saw Dr. Neal Jackson in New Orleans, a neurosurgeon specializing in hearing and balance disorders. In August of ‘24 he did exploratory surgery and found that the bones of hearing in my left ear, specifically the stapes bone, the smallest bone in the human body, was giving me issues. Fast forward six months later to this morning, he went in and replaced the bone with a prosthetic bone. I am thrilled to say I woke up in recovery with no ringing. Although I dont look happy in the picture, I was still groggy from the anesthesia. Just a heads up, go get checked there may be something they can do.

Hey I appreciate that info. I don't have tinnitus on the regular but a few times per year I have a Lyme flareup and will suffer with the ringing and buzzing in my ears it will alternate sometimes left sometimes right. this last Lyme flareup attacked my right side ear, joints etc. If it's something that ever becomes persistent I would look into that down the road. speedy recovery.

Thanks guys! Recovery is 2 weeks no heavy lifting and 2 months of not getting water in my ear canal.

Im a huge advocate for hearing health. Shooting guns, noisy crowds, concerts, if its too loud, put in some earplugs. The key is to roll them up into a tube and insert them good into the ear canal. Most people dont wear them properly, which can cause hearing damage by letting sound bypass. Protect those ears!
