If you suffer with tinnitus and its not from noise exposure, do yourself a favor and see a specialist, there may be something they can do. Im 33,and in August of ‘23 I woke up to ringing in my left ear, and thought it would go away. Well, a year later, it hadnt. I saw Dr. Neal Jackson in New Orleans, a neurosurgeon specializing in hearing and balance disorders. In August of ‘24 he did exploratory surgery and found that the bones of hearing in my left ear, specifically the stapes bone, the smallest bone in the human body, was giving me issues. Fast forward six months later to this morning, he went in and replaced the bone with a prosthetic bone. I am thrilled to say I woke up in recovery with no ringing. Although I dont look happy in the picture, I was still groggy from the anesthesia. Just a heads up, go get checked there may be something they can do.
