Also, you should be aware that once a tire develops irregular wear, it is difficult to eliminate it. Any new wear pattern gets put on top of what is already there - ergo, the wear pattern usually just continues.
The shop, Atterson Tire, Terre Haute IN ***probably our biggest and most respected tire shop** Inspected the tires, rotated, balanced.. handed me the keys and told me to drive it and check back.. I did and the car went from driving straight with a vibration in the wheel to pulling hard to the left and the vibration went to my butt. I reported this and they told me to bring it in the next day when their senior guys would be on shift for a full on inspection.. The manager suspected my allignment was off and the culprit of all my ailments.. So the next day as instructed i brought it in and handed over the keys, the owner just so happend to be up front and i spoke with him as well as the manager.. the owner looked at the records and took a real interest in this problem.. next thing i know its on the lift and being inspected by 5 men.. 45 MINUTES LATER i was told that all suspension parts under car had been inspected, then they re-did a 4 corner allignment, (last done 6,000 miles ago/12 months ago and was perfect then too) in all I had three men that all looked 40+ under the front end with the shop manager/and store owner. After a 40 minute full on inspection to determine why my car is eating tires they came back (shop manager / and owner) and manager stated.. "Your allignment is perfect, there is nothing wrong with your car" & "Its the tires, plain and simple" we are sorry youv had so much trouble with these. We'd like to put you into a different tire we sell alot more of and get very few complaints on.. the Yoko's.. They gave me $265 credit for my old tires and included the fresh allignment and instilation for free.. I was out the door spent $340 bucks for a 4 corner allignment, install of the new tires and fresh 70,000 mile yoko's and the car is back to driving/steering perfect.. thats the story..
