TICKING SOUND

i have a 1994 range rover 4.2. i get a ticking sound only when the car has been driven and hot. i it gets loud sometimes. and sometimes i dont hear it. ive changed oil and filter several times and i am now running auto rx in the oil right now. about 500 miles into the clean cycle. it sounds like it can be a lifter. is it ok to drive like this?

Injectors in my BMW do that. Even new ones do.

My VW's injectors tick like crazy.....always have. But, if you're convinced it's a lifter & it hasn't always make the "ticking" sound, you would be well served to have a qualified RR mechanic look at it.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of oil is ctx?

Sounds like a leaking exhaust manifold gasket if it is a ticking noise.
