When I say they are fun to drive, I mean that they handle and drive well. The steering is tight and the suspension isn't as "bouncy" as some of the American cars. My VWs have always driven in a straight line down the road.

I also enjoy the feel of the manual gearbox. I can switch through the gears with ease and the shifts aren't too long.

What is it with the steering anyhow? I swear, if I look away for 13ms in my Camry/Tundra, it's off someplace else when I look back. My VW is tracking wherever it was before. I think it's the dead-numb steering (effortless) which means you absolutely have to be careful to not move your hand at all.

Night and day difference on the clutch and shifter feel too.
