Threaded oil funnel (cheaper or DIY)

Looking for a threaded oil funnel. Came across

$15-$25 seems too much for me to pay for the funnel. Somebody suggested I should try windshield wiper fluid container that I am going to try soon (once its empty). Is there any other DIY or cheaper alternative you are aware of?

My hands are not as stable as they used to be. So looking for something to avoid spilling.

Castrol oil bottles have a thread that nearly works on my toyotas. So I cut one in half.

Based upon personal experience, this is a total waste of money.

I've got an older, better version of the Motivx screw on filter for my Subaru. The older version includes a filter screen. And a spike inside the filter, that is used for puncturing the seal on quart oil bottles. The spike rarely gets used, as I buy almost all motor oil in 5 quart jugs, and they don't have a neck long enough to reach the spike. The filter screen is a nice feature. It gives me some security from foreign objects getting in the engine.

But I would never again pay $20 for a filter, especially one which is only good for a single application, Plus, it's a little more difficult to clean out after use, than a regular funnel.

Hopkins makes some good wide mouth funnels and they are a whole lot cheaper to boot.

Have that $15 version for a GM J slot … When my truck or SUV are on the ramps … The fill area is hard to reach down and back plus the angle of the V8 … right over the exhaust …
This has made getting 8 quarts in them clean and easy …

I've been using about 2/3rds of a 2L Mt Dew bottle for the past 12 years or so. Yes, I do have to hold the bottle as it's smaller than the openings. But it was free and I only use it say 8-12 times a year and getting fewer as the kids move out and take on these jobs themselves.

I have a simple wide base & top funnel I got from Walmart, HD or Lowe's, don't remember, it fits into the fill hole tightly enough. I pour the oil from the 5 qt container into a 1/2 gallon plastic paint bucket with the measurements on the outside. I got that from Home Depot, ~$2.50. This way I can see the oil to make sure there is nothing foreign in it and I can measure the exact amount and it's easy to pour into the funnel without spilling
