Thread seal and secure

On my Muncie front bearing retainer I need to seal and secure the bolts. They go into the case. Paul said to use anaerobic, Permatex says thread sealer and I have been told to use red thread locking gel. I don't have the metal locking straps I have seen, don't think they are made for my small bearing Muncie.

The anaerobic and thread sealers I've used won't lock anything.

I don't think red is technically meant to seal, but it probably will. If you go that route I might put a dab of RTV just under the bolt head.

Would you guys be concerened about using the red locktite to secure the tail housing, those holes are dead holes, no oil. Will red pull aluminum threads?

I used blue loctite gel on all of the steel fasteners going into aluminum whe I worked on Harleys. HD recommended it to mainly keep the fasteners and aluminum from corrosion. It worked well in that application. Thread pulling had been a fact of life with aluminum on bikes that hadn’t been apart for years. Eventually the corrosion will happen, loctite slowed it down.
