Nice old Beaver. A little rough.
I hear this nonsense often.View attachment 165789View attachment 165790View attachment 165791
I take pictures of the Walmart oil section every time I’m there to tease my friend with lol. He won’t buy any oil or auto supplies from Walmart because he thinks they aren’t real even though I’ve shown him multiple times they are. I was at Advance Aito today and compared prices and my gosh the markup at the auto parts store is crazy over $10 more for some oils. Over $5 more average for a single quart. Let him pay that extra I certainly won’t be. I think it’s funny though they sold out at the Mobil 1 display so they had to advertise SuperTech lol.
Nothing wrong with super tech stuff. Only oils I buy at AAP or Autozone are ones on clearance/on saleView attachment 165789View attachment 165790View attachment 165791

Yeah lol. I remember in automotive class when I told him just go to Walmart and get the oil and filter for your Bronco they sell Pennzoil there as that’s all he will use. He is like nah man I ain’t trying to blow it up that stuff at Walmart is fake because it’s too cheap. He also wouldn’t buy a drain pan from there because he said it’s cheaper plastic than the parts store but it literally has the same name and design lol. Now he works at O’Reilly and still overpays for oil with his discount. I also have a coworker at the dealership who will only buy Royal Purple and it has to be from a parts store because he says the same non sense about it being fake. They have absolutely no idea how businesses work lol. They both told me I was dumb and my engine would blow up one day and it will be from the fake oil lolI hear this nonsense often.
It seems people have no concept of how business works.
An oil executive at Mobil told me they get numerous calls about Walmart and other retailers selling counterfeit oil...
It's too cheap to be real.
No doubt some non- competitive small time retailers also feed the narrative to get sales

I only buy oil at Walmart or Rural King unless the parts store is having clearance.
Midway between Fort Scott and Pittsburgh KS. a couple miles down a country road are Chicken Annie's and Chicken Mary's, two definitely different and both delicious interpretations of fried chicken. I think they may be family or former partners that had a falling out and thence two restaurants within stone throwing distance. Not sure there's many places anywhere to get better dinners.
You probably already know it and do it but if you pick up the big oil jug like a dumbbell instead of like a suitcase you can rest the weight along your forearm for control while you are pouring.View attachment 165856View attachment 165857
View attachment 165860View attachment 165861It’s oil change time. Hopefully get it done today. Have needed to do it for a week lol. Just get stuck working on stuff for everyone else. I bought some new funnels at Walmart hopefully they will sit in the oil fill better. The one I had already was a pretty loose fit and you have to hold it so hopefully these new ones will do well. It’s hard to pour the big one with just one hand. Glad I stocked up on the Motorcraft filters awhile ago because there wasn’t a single one at Walmart. No SuperTech ones either there were a few Fram and Mobil 1 filters but I don’t want to pay extra for those. This is my first time running Quaker State in the green machine haha. I’ve run it in my truck as well as the 2004 Camry before. I really need to do the truck it’s been a year and 3 months since I did it. It runs conventional 10W-40 or 20W-50 so it’s not synthetic so I like to change it no later than a year. Luckily I’ll be on vacation next week so if I don’t get them all done today not a huge deal.
