...and. I think there is similarity here! You? (I'll spare all the angles. I see an almost identical wheelbase and *similar* overall styling.. most different looking in the 3/4 and rear doors meets trunk area.) Please note to @Astro14 that I'm comparing outside overall styling of 4th gen Taurus/Sable to S-Class again.. only that aspect. Not suggesting anything else is similar. Grille and 3/4 shot most overall different. Generality)

Lots of cars take their styling cues from the S-class - not sure I've ever heard the argument made that Mercedes took their cues from the Taurus...

FMC made a decision a few decades ago to style their sedans after German manufacturers. Ford later dropped that plan.

Below are two examples of FMC trying to style their sedans after German manufacturers. Of note, the Lexus LS series also copied German sedans for their styles.

The late 90's Crown Vic had a strong resemblance to the late 90's 740i, one of the best looking cars on the road.
