I went to see the Pumpkin King in Half Moon Bay. The World Championship weigh-off was yesterday. The winner is this 2,749-pound gourd from Minnesota. One seed of big pumpkin like that may cost as much as $10 so the value of the pumpkin by far outstrips the $30,000 First Prize.
