Not sure I understand waiting in a Starbucks drive through line. I pulled in right behind the red mini van, parked in a lot outside of Starbucks not to get stuck in the Starbucks parking lot. Went in, order my coffee. This is my drink as I exited Starbucks. Guess we all value time differently .

On a sadder note, this Glendale AZ Starbucks is full of mature people that look like they have not much to do. That may match for them..I also plan to hang at a coffee shop when I retire, but I will have a mission every day.

We are agreed on drive-throughs.

They make sense if you're not able-bodied or have a van full of young children, but otherwise I don't get it.

Not many folks have been bit by a shark. But every so often it happens…

Average work week hours...55. Average hourly pay 14 cents.
By 1930 it was up to 32 cents per hour.
Adjusted for inflation....who knows. I'm guessing not a lot.
I based my guess on 8 hrs and women didn't make a man's wage and child labor was more like slave labor thus the sad faces... May have simply worked for room and board..
