thread end by-pass

Would like to start using the fram ultra for 2 5000 mile oci. Any concern using a filter other than the fl820s that ford specs with thread end by pass ? 2006 f150 5.4 liter. Thank you.

My last F150 was a 05 with the 5.4. I used more Ultra and Bosch Distance Plus than any other type of filter. Nary a problem.

My 02 f150 5.4 has not blown up yet from using a Fram TG2. I think you're safe.

Ultra is a much much better filter...Motorcraft filters are not what they used to be

I've gone back and forth on my 2002 4.6L with an XG2 and FL820S....and no issues or differences noted. I get 2 OCI's on the Fram though.
