Thoughts On Royal Purple Synthetic ATF>?

Curious of what you guys think about their ATF It would cost me about the same as Mobil 1. Aside from Amsoil (which is too $$$ for me), what TRUE synthetics are there available

Using Mercon V didn't seem to cure the infamous "Ford shutter" in my police car. Though, it really hasn't been severe, in any case.

If Mercon-V doesn't cure the shudder, it is NOT shudder. You have a mechanical problem.

Last time I looked, RP wasn't spec'd for Mercon-V. Its a good Dexron/Mercon PSF-ATF but might need some fluid converter for a MV transmission.

Flush your ATF with any Mercon-V dosed with Lubegard or Smartblend Platinum/Titanium.
Or, toss in a tube of 'Dr Transmission Instant Shudder Fix' now.

Improve the shift with a VB mod or shift kit.

Add more info. Year, make, model, transmission, mileage, mods, maintenance-history,.............

I have personally used LubeGuard to get the shudder out of a 96 Vic.
I know the shudder you speak of. The D to OD shudder that just drove me mad driving cruisers for 9 years.
Get a bottle, and add it now!! It WILL take the shudder away!!

Redline D4ATF is a full synthetic which is Mercon Compatible.It's good stuff.

Mobil 1 is Mercon/Mercon V compatible and less than $6 at AA in my area. Slightly higher at AZ. Works well in my F150. Lubgard is the only shudder kill I know of. Dump it in and see if it helps. Cheaper than transmission work.

I have used Mobil 1 transmission fluid for years. I would use Royal Purple transmission fluid any day over Mobil 1 if the price of Royal Purple was better. I used the Dexron/Mercon III RP and Mobil 1. I have used Amsoil also and it performed the same. In other words, no problem with any of the three you mentioned.

While you are in there to change the fluid, re-torque all the valve body bolts to 120 in/lbs is the spec, I believe. This is a known fix for shuddering in RWD Ford transmissions as well as replacing worn out fluid.
