Thoughts on non-OEM oil and filter during warranty

The oil filter is not schedualled to be changed with the 5 hour B&S oil change. Fillter and second oil change is due at 50 hours. Ed

An aftermarket cross reference could not be a reason to deny warranty claim. If the manufacturer is not specific on requirements, then any oil filter that fits and warranty needs to be honored.

That doesn't sound right to me? Basically you're saying anything that fits on your car, whether it's designed for it or not won't void your warranty. I call BS on that.

Not saying that they could try to test you and deny the the warranty anyways.

If it was mine, I’d just run an OE filter and an oil that meets the required specs.
