Thoughts on Mopar Filter

THanks for the replies.. I guess there's not really a lot of choices for filters for the 3.6L pentastar engine as of now.. Still a pretty new ...

What about Bosch Distance+, K&N HP filters and Mobil 1 filter? which among the 3 would be good to use? The Mobil 1 filters are the extended drain interval filters so it could handle 10k km intervals easily.. but what about the bosch distance+ and the k&n hp filters? Are they able to handle 8-10k km oil change intervals?

From what I can tell they are a Purolator Classic with a thread end bypass.

I think the dealership is charging $10-15 for the mopar filter...

That's a bit high, it would seem, but difficult to say without knowing what competitors are selling similar filters for. I get my FL1As for around $7, but the Wix 51515 for under $5. However, the Motorcraft filter for my G is only about a dollar more than the Wix.

That's too bad you guys in the great north really get pounded. I pay $3.97 for a Motorcraft and bought a Mopar last month for $4.40.

At least you've got some good oils we can't seem to get.

Well, we sure get pounded. Getting the Wix 51515 is an anomaly, because I get a corporate rate at that store. Online, I can get Bosch for my G for around the same price, but to get free shipping, I need to do a $75 order.

I've never paid under $7 for an FL1A. Years back, Walmart used to sell the AC Delco equivalent (only Fram now, for years) for under $5. We have places here selling FL1As online for like $20! I can't imagine how few they must sell.
